Would You Like a Cup of Coffee?

Watched 15 - 18 August 2022 — 12 episodes (DRAMACOOL)

I finished Would You Like a Cup of Coffee? (2021) and it was such a relaxing watch! I had actually never heard of this series before but saw it mentioned on an online list of K-dramas featuring coffee shops and it sounded appealing and I decided to watch it right away.

Some final thoughts:
*It’s short, sweet, cosy and charming. Some might think it’s boring because nothing much is happening, but I found it soothing and calming. I wanted to taste all the different coffee flavours and it made me appreciate the craftmanship of a barista.
*I loved the set-up of the series, the little vignettes and anecdotes, and my favourite episode is the one with the coffee vending machine and the Vietnamese construction worker.
*Loved the last episode and especially Ong Seong-wu and Park Ho-san meeting again and their bromance. The final moments of this series are very satisfying and it actually made me feel sad the series had come to an end. I would have loved to see more of the characters. Also, Park Ho-san and Seo Young-hee’s relationship really needs to be explored further! What are they to each other? They are very good friends, but I don’t think lovers, even though she had referred to him as her boyfriend once (if I’m not mistaken). I would have loved to see a romance develop between them.
*I never really sobbed with this series but there were heartwarming and emotional moments for sure and they put a lump in my throat and made my eyes water.
*How refreshing it is to have a series void of violence and mean people!
*I love Park Ho-san here and his character’s quiet and sweet nature. I thought he was quite attractive.
