Watched 18 - 22 August 2022 — 13 episodes (DRAMACOOL)
Finished Mad for Each Other (2021) yesterday and absolutely loved it!
*This show has a nice balance between comedy and drama. It’s funny and heartwarming and even heartbreaking. Both of the leads, Jung Woo and Oh Yeon-seo, are good in their emotional scenes and also in the moments where their mental issues are on full display. (He suffers from anger management issues and she has anxiety attacks, suffers from OCD and paranoia.) The drama is well executed and it tackles mental health in a realistic manner.
*The lead characters are very likeable and you root for their happiness and their well-being. I liked their encounters with the psychiatrist.
*I love Oh Yeon-seo! She’s so beautiful. I love her clothes, her beautiful wavy hair, the sunflower behind her ear, the dark and pink sunglasses, her holding the cute little dog. I also think she’s very good in expressing anxiety. The fear and panic displayed on her face and in her eyes look raw, and you really believe she’s traumatised.
*The chemistry between Jung Woo and Oh Yeon-seo is amazing. I love the development of their romance and they make it believable. I love the whistle part. The first time Oh Yeon-seo uses the whistle, really in need of Jung Woo’s support, and with him running like crazy towards the sound of the whistle, made my heart skip a beat. Also the scene where they make a little pact of becoming allies is supercute. It’s so satisfying and rewarding that the show gives us a happy ending. We even get a love declaration on Woo’s part and two kissing scenes.
*This is one of those short series (13 episodes of approx. 30 minutes) that should have lasted a bit longer. I was really sad it was over. Definitely going to rewatch this some day!
