*Having finished the show today, I can say that it was a very thrilling watch and the story didn’t bog down anywhere. In fact, even the final episodes moved briskly, they were very exciting and held some surprises. I tried to keep up with the two different timelines and I’m happy to say they didn’t make it too confusing. With the last episode you still didn’t know how everything was going to be resolved and they tied up things nicely. There were no loose ends, and the happy ending is very satisfying and heartwarming.
*Love the lead couple Lee Se-young (love her short hairdo) and Shin Sung-rok. Also Lee Se-young with her two faithful friends. Poor Kang Seung-yoon was so much in love with her, and she almost killed him for stealing all her money. I also love Hwang Jeong-min as Lee Se-young’s mother, she gave a stand-out performance. Shin Sung-rok’s villainous wife, played by Nam Gyu-ri, still got some of our sympathy once her backstory with her alcoholic and abusive dad was told. The scene at her dad’s apartment with her lover Ahn Bo-hyun being killed was shockingly violent. I also loved the two little girls and the sympathetic police chief.
*Indeed, there was no romance between the main couple. Sometimes a show can give a small hint, or you can read something into the main couple’s actions or behaviour, but there was nothing here (maybe some of their glances at each other in the final scenes??!!). I didn’t mind because I was completely wrapped up in the well-crafted story. I did like the connection between the lead characters a lot, though.
*Maybe you could fantasise about a possible romance between Lee Se-young and Kang Seung-yoon, haha. Still, I didn’t feel any romantic feelings on her part. The one person she felt passionate about was her mother, and she would do anything to keep her safe.
*Overall a very good show full of suspense and twists. I like these time-travel stories a lot!
