Choco Bank

Choco Bank (2016) 초코 뱅크

Watched 10 October 2022 — 6 episodes (DRAMACOOL)

I was looking for a short drama series. Well, to encounter something shorter than this 6-episode (of approx. 15 minutes per episode) web drama is unlikely. The reason why this also caught my attention is because I love Park Eun-bin. Here Park Eun-bin runs a not so successful chocolate shop, and Kim Jong-in, out of a job for the past five years, starts working in her place as a financial adviser and of course romance ensues. Already familiar with the blatant product placement in K-dramas, this web series is created by Cheil Worldwide Inc. for the Financial Services Commission (FSC) and therefore has important financial lessons to tell. The show is nothing special but enjoyable, fluffy, sweet and funny at times, and with such a short runtime doesn’t outstay its welcome. I also liked the OST. Leading man Kim Jong-in is apparently a famous singer, venturing into acting, and he did alright here. He has good chemistry with Park Eun-bin, they look adorable and good together and are the main reason to watch this.
