When My Love Blooms (2020)
Watched 10 - 17 July 2022 — 16 episodes (YOUTUBE/ DRAMACOOL)
*The story premise appealed to me because I love a realistic drama: Park Jin-young and Jeon So-nee falling in love when they are university students, and then twenty years later meeting again, played by Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Bo-young. The show has a melancholic feel to it which I like a lot.
*Both actor couples have great chemistry. I love Jeon So-nee as the younger Lee Bo-young, her character is uninhibited and endearing, but very different from her present self. It makes sense, though, since she’s been through a lot.
*I sought this out for Lee Bo-young after having seen her in Mother and she’s so beautiful! She’s also a good actress so I’m going to see what other series she’s been part of.
*I love the OST! There are a couple of really nice songs, and also the piano music is beautiful. The music gets a bit too sentimental at times, with lots of violins, but overall it’s a great score.
*I like Lee Bo-young’s son, he’s such a sweet kid.
*The last episode made me cry. When Lee Bo-young comes to terms with the death of her mother and sister and in her dream they finally turn around to look at her, my tears came.
*I also liked how the final episode showed what happened to all the side characters, even though it was tied up too neatly.
*The actress who played Yoo Ji-tae’s wife, Park Si-yeon, reminded me of Kim Cattrall, and I liked the fact that she was not completely vicious and how some of her backstory was shown.
