WE CAN BE HEROES OR MONSTERS.
Children who live in hiding with superpowers, along with their parents who live with painful secrets of the past, face enormous dangers together. (Synopsis: Letterboxd)

*I decided to watch this show because it has raving reviews and good ratings online and it has Jo In-sung!
*I didn’t really think I would like a show about superheroes (I’m more into slow slice-of-life dramas) but it’s indeed a great show with likeable characters, it’s action-packed and has great visual effects. I loved the flying scenes, especially the scene where Jo In-sung takes everyone down, flying and shooting his way through the palace. The production values are high and it’s reportedly the most expensive K-drama series to date.
*The main teen leads Go Youn-jung (love her!) and Lee Jung-ha are so cute together.
*Great role of Ryu Seung-ryong as The Monster and Go Youn-jung’s dad. His character has to endure a lot. Even though he has the power to regenerate, he still feels the pain.
*This show is sooo graphic and sooo bloody that I had to look away numerous times. It's really well done, though.
*I really liked the love story of Jo In-sung and Han Hyo-joo. I also really liked Han Hyo-joo’s character and how plain she looked with her glasses and then turned into this kick-ass superheroine. I think I’ve only seen her in Happiness but I like her much more here.
*The scene where Lee Jung-ha carries his mother Han Hyo-joo on his back made me teary-eyed.
*I thought it was a bummer there’s no proper reunion scene with Jo In-sung’s family (just too short), and worse, no extra scene for the teens Go Youn-jung and Lee Jung-ha. I also thought the battle dragged a bit. A lot more gore and bloodshed. It’s clearly destined to get a second series.
*Overall, great K-drama with emphasis on both action and characters.
