WE FOUND LOVE IN A SILENT WORLD.

Since he lost his hearing, Cha Jin-woo has gotten used to his solitary life. One day, an aspiring actress Jung Mo-eun enters his quiet daily routine. (Synopsis: Letterboxd)

*Love the slow pace, silence, dialogues in sign language, texted dialogues, the beautiful instrumental music and lovely songs.
*Good writing, good casting and well-drawn characters. It all feels realistic and natural.
*The male lead Jung Woo-sung looks good and gives an outstanding performance, making his hearing disability totally believable. He is so good in conveying his state of emotions, be it sad or angry or frustrated. He really looks like he's in pain, with raw emotion displayed on his face.
*Jung Woo-sung and Shin Hyun-bin have good chemistry.
*Great second couple, Park Jin-joo as Shin Hyun-bin's roommate and Shin Jae-hwi as Shin Hyun-bin's brother. They are really cute together.
*I was very glad Jung Woo-sung and Shin Hyun-bin got their happy ending. Or this is how I interpreted it. There is a time skip, and I guess the time apart made Shin Hyun-bin realise what Jung Woo-sung meant to her. Another interpretation is that the leads cannot overcome their differences and there is no happy ending. I read one reviewer seeing the ending as an imagined future where the leads envision a happy life together but it's not going to happen. I prefer my interpretation.
*Love Jung Woo-sung's best friend and his cafe. Also the child actors who play the best friends in their younger years are so cute.
*Jung Woo-sung's ex-girlfriend Kim Ji-hyun was at times annoying but I like the fact that they never made her a villainous character and she still elicited sympathy.

Can the fact that we’re so different be the reason? I mean, no two people in the world are completely the same. If a person with one arm falls in love with another person with one arm, would it be ok? People say they will soon start to hate and resent each other. But I’m not [so] sure. Fine. Let’s say it is true. Then wouldn’t it be okay to stay together until they start to hate each other? Wouldn’t it be okay to give it your all until you start to hate everything? Even if your love is not the same in shape and size. Even if it may not be fair. Wouldn’t it be ok for us to love until then?
