D-Day (2015): started watching 11 September 2024 (8/20 episodes)
Had this on my watchlist for some time now and wanted to watch something thrilling with an appealing leading couple. This fits the bill. I like Kim Young-kwang (seen him before in Call It Love, where he plays a very different role and also looks totally different) and also Jung So-min, whom I've never seen before in a series (Because This Is My First Life and Alchemy of Souls still being on my long watchlist). I'm really enjoying this disaster drama and it looks like there's some romance just around the corner. Jung So-min is obviously attracted to Kim Young-kwang, our heroic doctor, and the scene in episode 7 where she has to stitch him up after his motor accident and is admiring his shirtless chest (thinking he's unconscious), is very funny. And apparently he's not unaffected by her charm either. They act cute and playful together, especially when he's pointing out that she stitched in a crooked line. I'm excited to continue watching this.
Taxi Driver (2021): started watching 21 September 2024 (6/16 episodes)
I was already watching two series (What Happens to My Family? and D-Day), but I needed a series to download for my plane ride, and the other 2 series I'm watching are both on VIKI so not downloadable. I've had Taxi Driver on my radar because of the high ratings and favourable reviews, and I recently found out that Pyo Ye-jin is Lee Je-hoon's love interest and not second-billed Esom. I've never seen Esom in a series before but she just doesn't appeal to me much (though I have to say that after having seen her in a couple of episodes she's not too bad). In the second season of Taxi Driver, Esom won't continue her role because of other engagements and Pyo Ye-jin will take over the female lead. This made me prioritise this series. I also instantly liked Pyo Ye-jin and her interactions with Lee Je-hoon. I'm eager to see their relationship develop. Whether it will be really a romance, I don't know, but I'm content with hints. As for the series overall, I'm liking it more and more. The different stories are compelling and I'm hoping there will be more character development for our main characters.
Our Secret (2021): started watching 26 September 2024 (3/24 episodes)
Craved another cute C-drama and wanted to watch something starring Chen Zheyuan (I love him in Hidden Love). My elder sister has seen this series and loved it, so for me that's recommendation enough. There's little plot (don't know if it stays this way or whether there will be more drama), but I don't mind because I just love to watch Chen Zheyuan interact with the likeable female lead Xu Mengjie (also known as Rainbow Xu). The way he looks at her is just heart-melting. I don't know why I find this actor so attractive, while he looks like a high school kid, but here I am. Mainly fluff and cuteness, but so enjoyable.
Also (still) currently watching: What Happens to My Family? (29/53 episodes). Haven't made any progress, but hope to finish this series before the year ends.
