Just finished Signal 시그널 (2016). What a great show! I loved the intricate plot, the different cold cases, the performances and the characters. But the heart and soul of this series is Cho Jin-woong as the detective from the past. After reading some reviews online I’m happy that many people agree with me. Cho Jin-woong gives an outstanding and passionate performance and I love his character, who is righteous, earnest, emotional, caring, and acts from the heart. Uncomfortable around women (acting really goofy in the scenes with his first love), he is totally lovable. I did not expect any romance, so I was really pleased with the budding sweet romance between Kim Hye-soo and Cho Jin-woong. Though it’s clear Kim Hye-soo is very much in love with Cho Jin-woong, he never expresses his feelings explicitly but there are definitely signs that she has a special place in his heart. Of all the male characters of the K-dramas I’ve seen so far, Cho Jin-woong’s detective from the past might just be my favourite.
