Doctor John

Review notes were previously posted on Letterboxd, on a private list with watched K-dramas. I deleted the list so will publish the notes here.

Watched 23 - 25 April 2022 — 16 episodes (DRAMACOOL)

*Love this show a lot!!!
*Love Ji Sung!!! Those eyes!!!
*Love the lead couple Ji Sung and Lee Se-young, the side characters, the team spirit, the family relationship with the sisters, the mother and the aunt. And the second romantic couple Hwang Hee and Jeong Min-ah!
*Thought-provoking theme of euthanasia and an illegal drug to end one’s life peacefully, with mention of my native country The Netherlands several times.
*I like the fact that the villains of the story (the prosecutor and the nurse) were not just bad people but their character motives were understandable, and I love their final positive relationship with Ji Sung.
*Most of all, I love the slow-burn of a romance. The love developing between the leads is very palpable and I was so happy it all ends well. The scene at the airport with their declaration of love and their first kiss made my heart beat faster.
*But what’s with Lee Se-young’s weird hair extension?! While wearing a pony tail, one doesn’t notice, but with her hair hanging loose, it’s really strange.
*Cried a lot again, especially with the moments between the girls and their father. The scene where he is taken off life support is heartbreaking.
*Also, love the OST! And the medical cases were very interesting, reminded me a bit of House.
