After finishing the series Pride and Prejudice (2014) 오만과 편견, I’m happy to say that it was better than I had anticipated and the cast was great. Fortunately it wasn’t a new case with each episode, but the main focus became the cold case of Baek Jin-hee’s little brother, Choi Jin-hyuk’s involvement and Lee Tae-hwan’s kidnapping, and this was really compelling. (Lee Tae-hwan gives a convincing and heartfelt performance, by the way.) I didn’t understand everything, the plot being quite convoluted, and I also get confused with so many Korean names (who’s who). The chief prosecutor is a great ambiguous character (though his motives are not always clear, obviously just to mislead the viewer) and the actor Choi Min-soo plays him well. At times he’s over the top — he has a very distinctive way of talking — and a bit annoying, but he grew on me and finally got my sympathy. I also love how the series has some twists up its sleeve near the end, though the final episode was really disappointing (the series deserved a much better conclusion) and the romance was rushed and not given the proper attention anymore. But Choi Jin-hyuk and Baek Jin-hee are great together, and I love how calm and cool-headed Choi Jin-hyuk is and I love his quiet gaze. By the way, great kiss scene in episode 17!
