That Winter, the Wind Blows

Review notes were previously posted on Letterboxd, on a private list with watched K-dramas. I deleted the list so will publish the notes here.

Watched 1 - 3 April 2022 — 16 episodes (VIKI)

*Initially a bit uncomfortable ‘sibling’ relationship between Jo In-sung and Song Hye-kyo but I became engrossed in the story and felt more comfortable with the relationship along the way.
*Lead actor Jo In-sung is very good at playing such a complicated and tormented character, basically being a bad boy but redeeming himself in the end. His emotional scenes made me emotional too and he’s a good crier.
*Song Hye-kyo’s character gets a bit whiny. She doesn’t have a lot to do other than being blind and beautiful.
*The ending had me confused because everything was filmed in a blur and I wasn’t sure whether it was a dream or whether the main characters had both died and gone to heaven. But reading several blog posts online discussing the ending, it convinced me it was all real and it’s truly a happy ending.
*I like Bae Jong-ok’s character as Wang.
*Beautiful snowy cinematography and a great OST.
*I cried a lot!
