Directed by Kim Moon-kyo, starring Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do.
This is an ongoing series that I'm watching for the grand appeal of the lead actors Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do. Love them both very much! Just seen the first three episodes. The series consists of 14 episodes and 9 have already been aired (the last one just today). Tomorrow another new episode will be broadcasted so this weekend I can catch up with the 10 episodes. The first episodes are really thrilling and move at a fast pace. Lots of things are happening and I like the plot with the main characters all having attended the same high school and something has happened to cause a rift between Ji Sung and one of his former classmates. I like this part but not the present drugs storyline. For me it feels uncomfortable to watch Ji Sung being forcibly addicted to drugs (while being a detective on the drug task force), and I also didn't like him going off the rails, being a bit of a loose cannon. Some things are stretching credibility: Ji Sung drinking his own test tubes filled with blood (so they won't detect narcotics when they test his blood), that was sooooooo weird!
Both leads are morally ambiguous. Ji Sung's detective is not always playing by the book and Jeon Mi-do's shady reporter doesn't hesitate to take a bribe (she wants to take care of her daughter who momentarily lives with her ex-husband). I was eagerly waiting for Jeon Mi-do to be on Ji Sung's side and help him with the investigation and I'm glad it didn't take too long for this to happen. I feel so much more at ease now she knows about his drug addiction and that this happened by force. He also told her he doesn't want others to know about his addiction because otherwise they'll take him off the case. To be honest, I would have preferred it if this would have been just about the murder case of their friend, instead of having to deal with Ji Sung's drug addiction. But the drugs also seem to play a part in the murder case so I'm still excited to see it all unfold. I guess there won't be any romance between Ji Sung and Jeon Mi-do but hopefully they share lots of scenes together. Ji Sung is a very good actor and he immediately shows some great acting. He looks good too. I also like Jeon Mi-do with the long dark hair and without glasses (I've only seen her in Hospital Playlist with glasses). Cannot wait to continue watching!
